SUMMARY:Live Talk with Mr. Lipp\, IP Consultant
DESCRIPTION:Tobias Lipp is a graduate of CEIPI MIPLM and now works as an Independent Intellectual Property\, Innovation and Technology Consultant. \nHere are the questions that were discussed in the talk: \n1. Tobias Lipp graduated the 2021 MIPLM with a master thesis about “Organization and Management of IP Infringement Risks for Software and Digital Innovations in an Agile Development”. How should IP management be organized in the digital era?\n2. A special challenge for SMEs is also the collaboration with often bigger companies in open innovation. A recent European commission report has shown that SMEs often struggle with the strategic management of IP. What are the typical challenges regarding IP management at SMEs in open innovation projects?\n3. SMEs have access to IP specialists\, but rarely to IP strategists\, who guide them in the strategic use of IP. What is the role of having an IP strategist on board for a SME to support the economic success of the company? \nPlease click through the link below to watch the past live talk: https://www.linkedin.com/video/event/urn:li:ugcPost:6864828240914104320/?isInternal=true

SUMMARY:CEIPI IP-Management Series
DESCRIPTION:The IP-Management series at CEIPI gives insight into the state of discussion to all current topics of IP-Management. It shows the current status of IP-Management with example case studies from the European industry and makes the connection to the established management theories. Every two months\, different IP-Management topics are presented and discussed. \n#Intellectualproperty is becoming increasingly important today\, especially within digital business models. It is no longer just physical inventions that are protected against imitation\, but an exclusive customer experience is designed. The aim of this seminar is to show how to design digital solutions in such a way that they become patentable by applying the DIN 77006 standard. \nFor future events\, please contact our team.

SUMMARY:Live Talk with Ms. Boicova-Wynants\, European Trademark and Design Attorney
DESCRIPTION:IP protection for mobile apps | IP Business Talk with Ms. Boicova-Wynants. \nMaria B. is Partner at STARKS\, a Belgian IP and international trade boutique law firm. She is an European Trademark and Design Attorney and Mediator\, who deals with the filing of applications\, conflict resolution\, IP due diligence\, auditing\, landscaping\, IP strategy and IP portfolio management. She is a student of the current MIPLM class at CEIPI. Here are the questions that will be discussed in the talk: \n\nThe use of apps on mobile devices\, but also app based web applications\, surged rapidly in the last years and even companies in traditionally non-digital business branches launch apps in the relevant app stores. What are the opportunities for those companies in bringing their business to the app store and how do they need to adapt their IP strategy to it?\nFrom the customer perspective an app is just a small piece of software\, that provides you with a service like listening to music\, a payment service or a route planner. However\, to remain competitive the app provider needs to protect the customer relevant features. How can that be done with IP?\nAdditionally\, protection must be sought from the app development process and the team involved. What is there the role of NDAs\, trade secrets\, copyright etc.?\n\nPlease follow through the link below to watch the live talk: \nhttps://www.linkedin.com/events/ipprotectionformobileapps-ipbus6897554676070653952/

SUMMARY:Live Talk with Mr. Ivan Gauci | SNE at EUIPO\, IP Management advocate
DESCRIPTION:How to improve SMEs IP capabilities with prediagnosis | IP business live talk with Mr. Ivan Gauci\n \nIvan Gauci is an intellectual property expert\, a marketing strategist and a people person with a diverse commercial experience spanning both the private and governmental sector. \nHis expertise in marketing communications and strategy\, project management and financial management provided a solid grounding to move ahead in his career as an Assistant Director within the Government of Malta specialising in the Intellectual Property (IP) sector. \nHe has recently taken the position as a Seconded National Expert (SNE) with the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) in Spain. \nThe following questions will be answered by Mr. Gauci in the Live Talk: \n1. You graduated in 2021 at the MIPLM with a masters thesis about “IP prediagnostic service as an IP management tool by EU national IP offices for European Small-Medium Enterprises”. Can you first explain the background of your thesis. Why is IP so important for SMEs and why are they not using it as much as bigger corporates? \n2. IP offices everywhere in Europe have a vital interest to improve the IP knowledge in their SMEs and help them with IP prediogrostics services. How can these tools be described and what do they offer? \n3. What could be next steps to further improve such services regarding e.g. quality management? \n4. What is the EUIPO offering for European SMEs in the area of IP Prediagnostic services via the SME Fund together with other national IP offices? \nHere you can get more information about his research project: https://ipbusinessacademy.org/how-to-improve-smes-ip-capabilities-with-prediagnosis-new-research-project-at-miplm  \nThis Event is organized with IP Business Academy and Center for International Intellectual Property Studies – CEIPI #CEIPIBusinessTalks \nPlease follow this link to the event: https://www.linkedin.com/feed/update/urn:li:activity:6930513992868081665

SUMMARY:Trends in digital startups | IP business talk with Mr. Konrath
DESCRIPTION:Steffen Konrath is the CEO of evAI\, the winner of the German Startup Trophy in Organizational Intelligence 2021. He is a top-level speaker on the impact of artificial intelligence on management and the business side. \nHere are the questions that will be discussed in the talk: \n1. Some startups start their journey from a developed technology and others to target a market need. What are the impacts of the starting point of a startup on the company’s strategy?\n2. When a startup wants to start from the market need\, they need to have a good understanding of the possible future markets. What are the current market research and forecasting methods\, which create the most realistic outlook?\n3. Many startups are digital and are using therefore software and AI solutions\, so that software itself is seen more and more as a commodity. Is the protection of the software then from a competition perspective still most relevant for a startup or should they focus on other aspects\, like customer relevant parts of the offered service? \nThis Event is organized with IP Business Academy and Center for International Intellectual Property Studies – CEIPI.\n#CEIPIBusinessTalks \n\n\n\n\nPlease follow this link to the event:\nhttps://www.linkedin.com/feed/update/urn:li:activity:6956185753227821057
