Under the patronage of the CEO of Festo AG & Co. KG, Dr. h.c. Oliver Jung, Dean of the Diesel Board of Trustees, the Colloquium of the Graduate School will take place on May 8th and 9th in the Technology and Automation Center of Festo in Esslingen. The mentoring program of the Graduate School of the Diesel Board of Trustees comprises over forty heads of industrial IP departments.

The Graduate School is an instrument of the Diesel Medal, Germany’s oldest innovation award for promoting innovation culture. The Graduate school supports particularly qualified graduates in attaining management positions in research and industry and thus promoting progress on the topics of IP management.

The colloquium at the Graduate school presents current reports from research on IP management. The spectrum of topics ranges from the systematics and taxonomy of digital patents to patent strategies for technologies that are based on artificial intelligence and the protection of digital brand personalities. Ms. Kerstin Single, Head of IP at Festo, introduces into the IP management practices. In addition, the colloquium documents the status of the discussion on corporate IP management in industry and serves to present the training and education initiatives in the commercial handling of intellectual property. Current best practice from various industries will be discussed. In addition, the interested public can network for the further development of operational IP management.
