Viessmann is looking for IP experts who would like to make their mark in this new era of digital business. Within the scope of a joint program of the MIPLM and the Dieselmedaille graduate school, candidates will receive education in IP management and complete a PhD in IP Management at CEIPI.

Job profile:
- Implementation, continuous development, and management of a group-wide, cross-departmental IP strategy process to protect business models and innovation
- Derivation of a cross-company IP strategy from the business model, including sub-strategies for digitization / Industry 4.0 and individual innovation projects (in collaboration with external consultants)
- Management and implementation of cross-departmental IP strategy workshops to define specific IP needs (in collaboration with external consultants)
- Monitoring and identification of industry-relevant market, consumer, and technology trends, as well as derivation of potential impacts on the strategic direction of business models, products, and future customer needs
- Autonomous design and conduct of market research and analytical activities in the international market environment
- Preparation of reports as a basis for management decision-making
- Expansion and maintenance of internal and external information networks
- Internal contact for questions concerning the protection of business models and innovations
- Coordination / involvement of external experts (patent attorneys, consultants, research service providers)
- Raising of employee awareness for intellectual property
Candidate profile:
- Successful completion of a technical degree, ideally with a focus on or additional qualification in technology / innovation or IP management
- Relevant experience in the field of intellectual property rights (technical and non-technical IP)
- Project experience in digitalization / IoT / Industry 4.0 desirable
- First experiences in the field of design thinking desirable
- Several years of professional experience in product management, (strategic) innovation management, business development, or market intelligence environments
- Strong background in managing cross-departmental projects
- Good analytical and conceptual skills
- Convincing communication and presentation skills
- Interest and first experiences in the conception and implementation of digital transformation projects as well as the conception of innovative business models, ecosystems, and technologies
- Strong entrepreneurial thinking, customer and solution orientation, high self-motivation, creativity, and inventiveness
- Very good knowledge of MS Office
- Willingness to travel
- Fluency in English (in speaking and writing)
