The IP-Management program at CEIPI is by far the most successful executive management program in IP in Europe. Since 2005, CEIPI has offered a comprehensive IP Management education, for which it develops case studies with C-Level executives and heads of IP from industry to prove the success of its methods, skills and knowledge. The students and lecturers of the program come from industry, private practice, and institutions from around the globe. The IP-Management education at CEIPI is modular, ranging from University Certificates, over the Diplôme Universitaire Intellectual Property Business Administration (DU IPBA), the Master of Intellectual Property Law and Management (MIPLM, Master (II), LLM) to the PhD in IP management. Here, is an interview with Catalina Olivos, who graduated the MIPLM in 2020 and now works as head of legal at the French start-up Energy Square.

Catalina started her career as a lawyer in Chile after graduating at the Universidad Diego Portales. Between 2009 and 2020 she worked as legal advisor in multiple Chilean ministries and the Chilean Intelectual Property Office INAPI. During that time she took courses on various IP related topics at the Center of international intellectual property studies (CEIPI) in Strasbourg, France, and graduated in September 2020 with the Master of Intellectual Property Law and Management (MIPLM).

Also, in 2020 she joined the French start-up energysqare as head of legal, where she works together with business development to align the company’s IP strategy with the business strategy. Additionally, she is in charge of the development and maintenance of the IP portfolio. In 2021 energysquare won for its excellent IP-management practice the Price of the French National Patent Office INPI in the startup category.
