On June 25, the Microsoft AI Roadshow was held in Stuttgart to show the potential of artificial intelligence in a wide variety of applications in industry, from the manufacturing industry to automobile production. The aim was to exchange ideas with managers and decision-makers about the possibilities and limitations of AI-supported work with Microsoft Azure and cloud applications as well as Microsoft Copilot.

The latest generative AI developments were presented by Paul Ryan, MS Artificial Intelligence and Data Director, with a keynote speech by Dr. Inga von Bibra, Microsoft member of the MS Germany management team.

From the industry, Frank Witzigmann, Head of GenAI Accelerator, presented the “Pioneering work with generative AI: Feasibility and implementation strategies” at Mercedes-Benz. Claus Romanowsky from Siemens, Business Development Manager Innovation & Future Markets, was introducing “Generative AI in Factory Automation” and reported on the examples and experiences from practice. Jochen Schauffele from Robert Bosch Mobility Solutions reported on genAI insights from Bosch in architectural innovation to overcome challenges. Heinz Klemm Liebherr Digital Development Center reported on experiences and future prospects with AI and genAI applications in various industry scenarios.

Sebastian Dürdoth, Microsoft Senior Corporate Counsel, and Prof. Dr. Alexander Wurzer from the CEIPI IP Business Academy dealt with the management of AI risks and IP opportunities along the value chain of IP, especially patents. The case studies from the cooperation with I3PM “Synthetic, AI-assisted inventing as part of the IP design process for the digitalization of parking” together with uptoIP and ABP were presented (patentbutler.ai) as well as the assessments of Dr. Malte Köllner on AI-based inventions and their treatment within the framework of German employee invention law:
